I have an LG Optimus Elite, and am currently traveling in South Korea. My phone is Virgin Mobile (Sprint Network), so I can't get service here with it. That's not the problem, since I've bought a temporary phone to make calls.
The problem is that my Optimus won't work right on Wi-fi. The browser is the only app that works. The rest of my apps will not connect to the internet. Even the browser displays endless and unnecessary "security warnings" on whatever site I'm on.
Date and time are also messed up, and I cannot figure out how to change them. My phone thinks it's January 1980, and there is no option I can find to manually change date and time.
Please let me know if you know how to fix these issues.

Try putting your phone into Airplane mode with the wifi on, your phone gets it's time stamp from the network so that might be why it's confused. Then try Settings > System Settings > Date and Time and uncheck "Get date time from Network", you should also be able to manually set your date time here as well.

Not sure about the security issues, anyone else have ideas?

Good Luck!
