Help Option to remember Route Options in Android version of Google Maps?

In the iOS version of Google Maps, if you go to 'Route options', where it shows Avoid motorways, Avoid tolls and Avoid ferries, there is a "Remember settings" option.

I can not find this option on the Android version of Google Maps.

I would use this feature a lot as I don't travel on motorways, so I keep having to remember to turn off that setting each time I map a new route!

There is a way of saving a route with the 'avoid options'.

After making your choice, tap the 3 dot menu button again and tap 'Add route to Home screen'.

Whenever you tap the icon, Maps will run using that route.

Those options are "sticky". Once you check them, they stay checked for all subsequent routes.

My apologies. You are correct. I simply stayed in the same session and changed locations, which does remember the settings. If you leave maps and go back in they are not remembered. From what I can see in Google Groups, it's a discussed "feature" for upcoming releases.

Update on my previous post.

You can also change the destination after using the icon to run maps and it will retain the chosen 'avoid options', so you can create any new route using this method.
