Oreo - Contacts Icon shows Notification does not go away

My Contacts Icon (I keep in Nova Dock) now and then shows a Notification "dot"
The only way to clear it seems to be to clear Contacts Cache and reboot.

Anyone else with Oreo have this problem?

Sure sounds like a nova issue. I have seen that from time to time on nougat and clearing cache of the nova app (i also use Tesla unread) and phone cache usually clears it.

Ive had that happen to text. Messages, google maps, and other assorted apps.

I dont think oreo has anything to do with it. Ive not seen this behavior at all after oreo, but did see it on nougat.

I too use Nova and Tesla. Even if I delete mail or messages the icon still shows until I clear notifications. Once I clear notifications the icons vanish.

But afaik there is no way to clear a notification for Contacts.

I am not even sure what a Contact Notification would be!

I just tried something after - re reading posts here:

If I go to Nova Settings - Advanced and ReStart Nova Launcher the Little Notification Dot goes away from Contacts!
