Oreo Pull Down menu

Bucketman

Lurker
Hello all, I just updated my Note 8 to Oreo and man, I wish they could just leave a few things alone between versions. Right now I've noticed that in my pull down menu (where it shows my wifi and location and such) now has these mini drop downs inside of it that show my wifi connection status, and my file transfer status, app updates and whole bunch of other stuff I don't want. I've been messing around in the settings and can't figure out where to disable these at.

I attached a screen shot of it. Anyone know how to disable it? Thanks in advance.

Look at screen shots. Ive a tmobile variant.

You tap “details” , three go to the second screen shot.

From there, you tap on the icon you want and within that you can disable it and adjust the notifications to taste.

Your carriers website should give you more info on Oreo updates.

I know. I only had a couple but they were annoying to get rid of. And my rotation control app keeps being overridden by the native rotation control which only allows for landscape or portrait. I sometimes want reverse portrait though so this is bothersome! I contacted the app developer so fingers crossed it is an easy fix.

Yeah I went into those options and all the toggles are greyed out except for apps using battery.

This is super annoying, I use android over other phones because I like customizing it as having access to a nice minimalist style. Now I have 7/8 of these notification things up at once.

Well, on the model I have , I was able to remove the notifications I wanted to get rid of.

if you tap on the individual entry in the notification setting, there is more finer control of each specific notification. you can absolutely turn them off there for sure if you want by disabling them in that tab i linked above.

of course I can only speak for t mobile since that is what I use, but this is a OS level system setting so should work on all stock variants.

My problem with rotation control was actually an easy fix. All I had to do was clear the cache and data in the individual app and then restart it. Whew! Other apps with badges that should have worked and didn't got the same treatment with the same positive result.
