Oreo update and texting app issues

Hi hello good morning!
I just got the new update yesterday and am having trouble with the texting. I have textra and it's set as my default message app but some received texts are coming through the stock message app and it seems random. I can send to the group or individual through textra but for some the replies are coming through the stock message app. I have no idea what's going on with that or why or how to fix it if my default texting app is already set as textra.

Maybe try changing the default app to the stock one then back to Textra, just in case some setting hasn't applied properly with the change in OS?

There's no other pattern, such as MMS to one and SMS to another?

(It's not intrinsic to Oreo - I've been using that since October with no such problems. It might be a problem with the LG implementation, but my guess is that it's just a quirk of its installation on one particular device. Hence my suggestion of toggling the default app, just to see if it's a setting that's implemented slightly differently and not carried over quite right. You could try clearing the caches of both apps as well, just in case - unlikely, but also does no harm).

I can confirm that Messenger continued to work flawlessly after the 8.0 update. My G6 is unlocked so I'm sure it's a Goggle product.

Funny thing though... The Icon for this messaging app looks suspiciously like something from "Netscape"
Anybody else think that?
