Oreo Update Deletes Pics/Videos

So I updated my phone to Oreo on Fri, got up Sat and I no longer have any of my pics or videos of my 1 and now 2 year old. All of them gone. Went to check by sd card because I noticed anything I did with it today (Sat) was going to the device. Apparently my sd card is corrupt now and I have lost all my pics/vids due to this update? What gives? Anyone know anyway to get them back or why the Oreo update did this to the card? I checked the samsung forum and others have had the same problem. Once girl lost over 1400 pics. I dont care about the amount, I care that I dont get to see my son very often and now those early memories are gone!!!!

You're not the first person I've read this happen too. :(

Are they backed up to Samsung Cloud or Google Photos? Have you tried the card in another device?

If no, you'll need to look at an app like Recuva to see if that can restore them.

Any luck of getting them back??? I have the note 8 and jus updated the other day. I went to organize my albums on here jus now and the majority were saved to my sd card. And I'm legit missing like 2000 pix. N their of my son n daughter ages 7 and 2. Every single pic was on my phone. I literally want to cry

Ugh that sux. I went n googled and read an article that said download a app called disk digger and that act work. Only thing was it saved every single pic, like everything I looked at online there was 80,000 images and it saved 25,000. But then I googled again cuz it was impossible to go thru them all and saved which ones I wanted. Anyways it said to reboot the phone. I did that and it worked. I feel dumb for not tryin that to begin with lmao n pissed cuz I actually started to go thru those 80,000 images which took forever jus for 1000

If the problem is with the removable card, take it out of the phone, stick it in a card reader, attach it to a computer and see what your favourite file recovery software can recover. Don't bother with any app on the phone, and don't bother with anything that says it's for recovering data from phones - this will be simpler and more reliable.

Glad you were able to get your photos back.
