Oreo update FAILURES

K8eSunbug

Lurker
I unwillingly had my phone updated yesterday and I frankly I am hating it. For example:

-I've lost the ability to set different text tones for different contacts (sister, work, parents, etc).
-It forced installation of Samsung apps I didn't want (Device Maintenance and Secure Folder for example) and I cannot uninstall them.
-It deleted pictures from my Gallery! (I was able to recover a couple from Verizon Cloud, but some are just gone.)
-There used to be an option under Settings- Sounds where I could set Email, Calendar, and General Notification sounds.... now I have to go into each app individually.

Isn't an update supposed to make my phone EASIER and MORE CUSTOMIZABLE?!

I have the same problem. NEED IT FIXED

The text notifications tone thing is a common issue people are having with the update, the solution is to use an alternative message app like Textra or Google Messenger.

Recuva may be able to restore the other pictures if they were stored on the SD Card as opposed to the phones internal memory. Google Photos might have backed the other pics up.

Device Manager and Secure Folder have been there since the phone was released, they're not new since Oreo.
