Organizing photos before taking them

Hi there.

Is there a way/app that I can chose a certain folder or file name before I take picture?!

I want to organize pictures into two categories.

My son
General

So when i take a picture i want to be able to save them automatically in two different folder wether it is my son or something else.

Cheers.

Does your camera app let you specify which folder it saves to? If so you can change that manually before taking pictures.

To do it automatically would require a camera app that's capable of recognising your son's face in particular, and then if it recognises that face storing the picture in a different place. I've never heard of anything like that, and to do this (identifying a particular person in different lighting, from different angles, with different expressions) accurately and reliably, is quite demanding. So I will be very surprised if it exists.

Hey.

I dont want face recognition. I want to chose between two profiles saving the photos in two different folders. Having to change the setting (save location) before every photo takes too long.

I hope you know what I mean.

Ah, I took "automatic" to mean "the camera app decides which folder you want to store them in", and face recognition seemed to be the only way of doing that.

So you are instead wanting a faster way of selecting the folder manually (a toggle you can set to one of 2 locations)? Just wanting to understand the requirement.

(I've not met anything like this either, and I suspect it's not something many people require, but want to be sure I've understood what you have in mind).

Other than switching directories, you'd think there might be built into the camera app some capability to attach tags to a photo just before/after taking the photo. But I haven't seen tagging built into any camera apps.

On the other hand there are a lot of general purpose "database" apps that have tagging and can take pictures. For example evernote and google keep. If you're taking a lot of pictures and wanting to move them around in bulk then that's probably not a good option. But if you are wanting to take notes on individual picture and add tags etc and only view then WITHIN the evernote /keep etc program, it might work for you. Quick search within the app will reveal all similarly tagged photos. The downside is that it is harder to share or move a batch of photos (although finding them and sharing one at a time would be a breeze)
