Original magic owners, where you at now?

Hi all,
Just wondering for those that got the original magic, or went through the dream to magic fiasco, where are you all at now with your phones?

Who's upgraded, what did you get? If you upgraded, did you buy a new phone outright or pay the early upgrade fee? Is anyone as frustrated and impatient as I am with my magic now as compared to the new crop of phones?

When I inquired about my hardware upgrade eligibility, I was told I can't upgrade until Feb 2013. Considering buying a new phone outright and once my contract is up, may be switching to Wind.
 
flashed mine to Gingerbread, runs better than new. Gave it to my kids and they are happy. I bought another phone outright. I'd never do a contract or be suckered into what looks like a good deal but never is.
 
Still using it for now and find it does the HTC splash screen a lot lately when going Home from certain apps.

Planning to upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus January 10th and can't wait
 
Yeah, think i am done with contracts. Wind's deal sounds better from what i have heard, but need to find out more about it.

I am looking at buying the razr outright, or maybe a nexus depends on price when i buy in feb. No sd card on nexus is a bit of a nuissance for me
 
Bought a Nexus S on release day last winter, now on the preorder list for the Galaxy Nexus. Still pull out the old Magic once in a while to try a ROM on it, but it's mostly just collecting dust now. Loved it when it was my daily driver though. :)
 
Just got the Galaxy Nexus today and loving it so far. Also traded in the old Magic to Bestbuy for $18.

Bummed that we don't get our updates straight from Google though in Canada, and have to get them from Samsung (or is it Rogers?).
 
Upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus last week. The Magic served me well but I am already enjoying the large storage space on the Nexus!
 
Think I'm leaning toward the nexus now too. Hoping to pick one up next month. Can't wait to dump my magic phone
 
I went to a Samsung Captivate a year ago and love the size of it compared to the Magic. I threatened to leave Rogers and they gave me a great deal on it.
I gave my Magic to my daughter who uses it for listening to music, surfing the web, playing games, just without a SIM card!

I too got the Captivate the moment it hit the store. My old Magic is still working and left it to my girlfriend. She use it when she goes on European tour. It had all she needed (wake up alarm,music player,wifi, emails, maps,etc). It still running stock but i might take a week-end and upgrade it with a GB rom to give it bit more oomph.

I'm still waiting for the Galaxy Note before i ditch my Captivate. ICS rom is pushing that moment for now.
 
I sold my Magic to a friend an upgraded to the Nexus S. I love it. I played with the Galaxy Nexus recently, I think it's a bit too big for my liking (for a phone), but I also got a Transformer Prime recently, so I'm good for screen sizes. :)

Oh, and I still have my wife's old Dream. I still play with it from time to time. Probably let my son have it to play with when he turns 2. ;-)

So you get it during contract?
 
I got a little frustrated with how slow my Magic was feeling. I tried switching back to the Dream which was more responsive when typing with the hardware keyboard but was otherwise slower. I ended up buying a used Desire Z from a friend which is a really good phone, but now I'm looking for a good deal on a Galaxy Nexus.

I won't buy another phone that ties me to a contract. As soon as my current one ends I'm going to shop providers for the best deal and not be tied to one again. Also I like the idea of the Nexus phones that get new Android versions as they're released, not when the carrier decides to release it, or when the manufacturer finally builds in all their customisations, or even the community-modified ones that work ok, but often have missing functionality. I don't mind the Sense on my Z but I much preferred the simplicity of the basic Android.
