OS Updates Fixing the Pixel 2 XL?

Hi All, I have been battling with my Pixel 2XL since the OS update caused the Pixel 2 XL and Android Auto to no longer function correctly in any of the three vehicles that have AA head units. I attempted to get Google to warranty the Pixel 2 XL (as they have for others) with no luck. I have deactivated the Pixel 2 XL and re-activated my Pixel XL which still works with Android Auto due to my refusal to allow the 8.1.0 update. While I realize that there are well over 1000 posts on Googles AA Help forum with folks in the same boat, I’m hopeful that eventually Google will fix the issue. At this point there is no way for me to know when and if that happens with the Pixel 2 XL deactivated. Is there someplace here or on another site that would allow me to check on updates?

Thanks!

Tim

Codesplice, Thank you very much for the response. The update that the Pixel 2 XL received in late December rendered the Pixel 2XL useless with respect to using Android Auto and the three vehicles so equipped. I have spent hours with tech support which was a huge waste of time. Even though they have warrantied others Pixel 2XL for the same issue, they are now refusing. They are not really interested in fixing the issue, just practicing their scripted responses and sending everyone to their 'support site' which had well over 1000 complaints (many have been removed) so we can commiserate together without any assistance from Google. I was able to re-activate my Pixel XL (I have given up on the Pixel 2XL) and the only reason it still functions with Android Auto is that I have refused to allow the 8.1.0 update. I have tried all the possible fixes (new cables, developer mode, etc.) since late December without success. I really regret purchasing from Google. In hind sight I would have been better off doing business with Verizon or Best Buy...never again.
