UI is much improved and doesnt lag like it used to when using the people widget, or zooming out of home screens.

Where did you find this update? Did you go looking for it or did it find you? I just went into my phone and I'm running an older version (0.6.25 I think) but when I hit the check for updates button it said I was up to date. So I'm just curious about where you got yours from.

Just my OCD for updates. I just happen to check and it shocked the crap out of me and told me there was an update available. Cant lie, i was some how hoping they had super compressed the JB update lol

I just got it also hitting the update button. No difference what so ever still laggy. Maybe it's a update to prepare for JB since its only 6 megs.

Yes its lame to release a update to stop root when the phone is laggy and sometimes unresponsive. Had a RAZR slim with ICS and it ran smoother that the HD! Wish I would have kept my S3 while its build quality was bad it was fast, smooth and 99% lag free. There is just no reason for this phone to be so laggy.

Unless JB is a big improvement I might have to use my last upgrade to get the galaxy note 2. And the onscreen buttons really take away from the screen size u basically using only 4.3 inches of the screen a design flaw. Probably wouldn't notice it if I upgraded from my RAZR slim but coming from the S3 the screen looks small.

I loved Motorola from the first time I touched my DROID X but they tripping with this anti mod stance! Gotta get better or no more Moto for me.

Im personally fighting the urge to return and get the Nexus.. only problem is i dont want to pay full price for a 1+ year old phone. May just buy one used and return this one within the 14 days. Not impressed so much with the UI performance.

Browsing over XDA, apparently you can keep root if you have OTA Root Keeper installed.

As far as lag goes, I haven't noticed much at all. Although I have Nova installed and turned off transition animations. Although I didnt notice lag from when I had the default launcher installed either.

I got ithe update about 2 hours ago. It just showed up and announced that an update was available to be installed and it would take about 10 minutes. Did I want to do it now or later. The first time I clicked "later" cuz I wanted a little more info. The next time I clicked "OK" and it took about 3 minutes.

Truthfully, I haven't noticed any change whatsoever in the way my phone behaved. But I really like my Maxx HD. I've had it about 4 days now, and I figure I'll be using this phone for the next couple years. That's what I did with my "X" that I bought on launch day back in july of 2010.

So now I'm patiently waiting for my next phone to be released some time in the Summer of 2014.

As long as you configure superuser to use the "OTA SURVIVAL" mode (under the info tab), you'll retain root after this update.

It's gotta be more than 4.3" with the on-screen buttons, I say 4.5". Because the viewable screen area definitely looks larger than the Razr M's.

Nope because the Razr M is 4.3" with the on-screen buttons. That means the M is probably 4" viewable screen area. My wife has a Rezound and I put them side by side. Excluding the on-screen buttons the viewable areas are the same size. I'm guessing the on-screen buttons take at least .3" away from the display.

If I would have upgraded from my Razr slim then the screen wouldn't have bothered me. But using the S3's beautiful 4.8" viewable screen area for 3 months its the perfect size. Now the RHD screen is the same and as beautiful as the S3 but the difference is if you would put the Iphone next to the RHD.

I think Moto should have Followed Samsung and HTC and gone with the capacitive buttons. Maybe the RHD could have been a little wider and go with 5" screen and use the on-screen buttons to keep it 4.7.

Also the camera is the same one on the Razr slim which is fine but the awful software is the same also with a few tweaks. Seems like they just focused on the build quality and threw everything else together. I can take about 5 of the same pics and 4 will either be blurry, dark, or color off. The 1 will be perfect so it shows that the camera can take good pics.

I know when Moto had their media event and introduced the RHD they had some of them running JB and looked stable. So maybe Moto has something up their sleeves and thats why its taking so long and it will solve all my concerns.

Don't get me wrong I left the S3 for its build quality, ok radios, and touchwiz. The only thing the S3 has on the RHD is the viewable screen area and the camera. I love moto from my DX, Razr slim, (then the S3) to my RHD. The RHD is a great phone but unless at least for me if they don't address those issues (maybe the viewable screen area cannot be addressed) then it will always be a close second to the S3.

Did anyone got stuck in fastboot mode. My Maxx HD is saying boot failure and everytime I try to hit power and volume up/down the phone will reboot but turn back off to the same fast boot screen. Any help?

If you're feeling brave enough, you can restore it with the fastboot files. Did it last night, pretty simple actually. You can find the files here, RSD Lite here and the Motorola drivers here. You'll also need to edit the XML file and make it look like this one Only consists of removing the getvar command lines. I did it last night, very simple, very easy. If you have any questions on it, shoot me a PM or ask here, I'll help out.

if i do the update now it doesnt lock me out from doing a root later on does it ??
No it does not. I've heard you can keep it if you set Superuser to OTA survival mode, but you can still run the Motofail2Go stuff and it will work again. Just completed it myself.
