Keep until your carrier blacklists it. Which has already started apparently with some networks.

IMO rather like keeping an unexploded bomb, that you won't be able to do anything with, apart from returning it.

How do I turn off Over the Air updates?

On my first note 7 I tried to turn off updates to prevent the 60% battery limit. Purely til I got a replacement due to long long work days. Doesn't work. Any ota update will catch you eventually. You can run but you can't hide.

If Samsung decides to push a mandatory OTA that permanently locks all Note 7s in Airplane Mode, they will probably do it in the middle of the night and you won't have any option to delay it. You'll wake up with a paperweight.

Please, folks... just turn the thing in.
