OTG! Yeah, you know me!

A little tribute to the "deep and dramatic" OPP song ;)

Like the international version, OTG works great on the GS3 without root. I have tested 64gb USB drives and plays hidef video without trouble and the experience is seamless (no extra stuff needed). Based on battery use, the actual draw appears to be nominal compared to micro sd, so is a practical media or file transfer solution (if needed).

Sweet :)

Will test a 1TB HD portable drive tonight. Reports are the GS3 powers them and works fine.

Hey rush,

I'm glad you are looking into this stuff. I know you were disappointed at the Nexus 7 and at first it didn't bother me. But after the crap Amazon is pulling with the 25$ thing I am starting to see keeping all of my data (Even if its just an archive) local somewhere is pretty important!

I have several 1TB HDs of two different brands. They power, but never bother reading. They are formatted NTSF, so perhaps that is the issue?

Regardless, it works great with 64gb FAT32 drives :)

I would have the N7 now if it had a micro slot and supported full OTG like it was supposed to as the T370 shown at CES. Google gimped it. I can not be bothered to root anymore. I just want the device to work as I like it to, out of box.
