Other ways to dim the LCD

Aside from going into settings -> display -> brightness, is there anything out there to further darker the brightness?

I haven't found anything that fits my google searches

THANKS

There are a few widgets that have quick brightness toggles. Even the stock "power control" widget on all Android Gingerbread devices has this functionality. =)

Yes, but those are only controls to dim the screen to the same level that the default control does. Its basically a remote so you dont have to go deep into settings.

I like Widgetsoid, 3 levels. Just tap to increase to preset levels. Have mine at 20-30-60, it's almost always on 20%.

Other way: Use a standard piece of tinted window film.

Widgetsoid has a screen brightness option and you cna choose your own levels.

On the galaxy s2 of you are not on auto bright you can slide your finger accepts the top of the screen (where the notification drop box is). Left is dim and right is bright.y

This is supposed to be a feature in cyanogenmod too but I can't get it to work. I have it activated in CM settings but I can't ever get it to do anything sliding on the notify bar. What am I doing wrong?

I do use autobrightness a lot, but the times I've tried to do this auto has been turned off. Maybe just the fact that I use it sometimes confuses it.
