OTT M8 firmware update

Hello everyone. I'd appreciate some advice please. My android tv box is an OTT M8, it has the windows 8 Ui and is running KitKat.

Lately it has been really buggy. Freezing, kicking me back to the home screen etc.

Is there a firmware update available for it and if there is can I use a USB stick instead of an SD card.

Hi telstar, what version of kodi are you using because i had the same problem with xbmc gotham13.2 then i uninstalled and reinstalled kodi 15 lsengard, much quicker and no problems with freezing or being kicked out, i have an m8 aswell. But every now and again go into applications and clear kodi cache

Hi and thank-you for your reply. I don't use XBMC but having searched for a firmware update I did come across kodi and installed the latest version. When I got my box I downloaded showbox and use that from my home screen. Off topic now but showbox has been really buggy lately which prompted me to look for a firmware update for my box plus because I've had it for about nine months. I uninstalled showbox but now when I download it I can't install it. It just says app not installed when I try.

I cant get an ota update on my box but i think people are installing different roms on theirs for a better experience, thats something i havnt got a clue on lol.
