OTT MXQ TV box hdmi problems

Hello! I'm having a problem with my new OTT MXQ TV box. I recently purchased it with Kodi already installed. Everything seems to be going fine until I watch a movie. Several times during the movie, the video cuts out. Almost as if the HDMI cord was unplugged. It happens seemingly every 20-30 minutes, sometimes in longer intervals, sometimes shorter. Also, when this occurs, it seems to be interfering with my television as a whole. The TV remote control barely works, sometimes not at all. I even tried to power off the television manually and it won't turn off until I turn the MXQ box off first. Also, the TV remote control seems to not work as well when the MXQ box is turned on. I've been searching all over Google for a fix for this issue, or maybe someone else having a similar issue to no avail. If someone could give me some kind of insight, that would be great. If the HDMI is cutting out and it's causing problems with the TV, could be an actual fault. Could try another HDMI cord before seeking service and a replacement unit.

Yeah, I just tried a different HDMI cord and it does the same thing. It appears as if this box was DOA. The interesting thing is, while setting up the box and just browsing the menus for a few hours, this issue never happened, only once I had chosen a movie. Ugh. Thanks for the reply.
