I'm still searching for a good screen protector that will work with the Otterbox Defender for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I recently had to take advantage of a warranty issue with my Otterbox Defender. I told the representative that I was happy with the case, but not pleased with the difficulties in finding a good screen protector that won't raise up or cause sensitivity issues with this particular case. I was informed that Otterbox had developed a screen protector that was designed specifically for the Note 8. I decided to "bite" and as a result, I got bit!
I ordered the Alpha Glass for the SGN8 and I was disappointed to say the least. I was told that it had the soft glue under the entire glass. This proved to be false! I only has a very light line of glue around the edges. I then noticed that the screen was bit short. It did not over the entire screen, in particular, the camera area as well as the bottom of the phone. I decided to try it anyway based on the representative's recommendation. I never put a case on a phone immediately after applying a screen protector (some wise old owl taught me that) so that it has time to "settle". 24 hours after applying the screen protector, I put on the case. It seemed to work very well for the first few house. Then, just like all of the other protectors that I have tried (6 at last count), I was resolved to learning that this screen protector was just like the others in the case. It slightly pushed up on the sides, which caused sensitivity issues. The thin line of glue is also very weak and leaves a bit of a "incorrect application appearance". It did not adhere all around as advertised. It was correctly installed.
This protector sold for $44.95 and I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! I wish that I would have read the reviews first because the youtube spot was spot on! I do appreciate Otterbox's return policy and it works very well. I returned the glass for a refund (minus $5 for shipping costs). Attached are some pictures.
