Oukitel U11 Plus Review – 4GB RAM 64GB ROM smartphone

So Oukitel U11 Plus is the latest smartphone from Oukitel. It has many good functions but I believe that most important is built in hardware like 4GB of RAM including 64 GB storage space. And very low price which is now around $170.

Display: 5.7 inch AUO screen, 1920 x 1080 pixels
CPU: MTK6750T Octa Core ( A53 x 4 1.5GHz + A53 x 4 1.0GHz )
System: Android 7.0
RAM + ROM: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM
Camera: 13.0MP ( SW 16.0MP ) front camera + 13.0MP ( SW 16.0MP ) back camera
Sensor: Ambient Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Gravity Sensor, Touch Sensor
SIM Card: dual SIM dual standby. Nano + Nano SIM
Feature: GPS
Bluetooth: 4.0
Network:
2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz

One worry about the service repair centers. I wonder do the phone have to be shipped out of the country to have minor repairs?

Far worse than that: it wouldn't work at all on Verizon or Sprint, and would be 2G-only on ATT or T-Mobile. Might have some limited LTE compatibility with some Canadian carriers, but it would be an incredibly poor choice for anyone who lives in or visits North America.

I'm pretty sure Oukitel has no repair service outside of Shenzhen, China. So any problems at all that requires repair or replacement, that's where it's got to be shipped back to, at your expense as well. That's one of the reasons why they're cheap for what you appear to get. Oukitel are only sold online through Ali Express, Gear Best, etc, who are also in China.

I consider Oukitel to be what I call a third-tier Chinese phone-maker, another one is Elephone. Who both make reasonable low-cost devices IMO, but have no physical presence outside of China. Everything is online.

First-tier Chinese phone-makers I would consider to be Huawei and ZTE, and are truly global, they're in the US, UK, EU, etc.

Second-tier being things like Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, TCL, Coolpad, who mostly sell in China, have a huge retail and service presence all over the country, and are in many other Asian countries as well. TCL and Coolpad will often make budget, house-brand devices for carriers as well, or may not use their own name and will license another brand, e.g. Alcatel, RCA,

Fourth-tier is the unknowns, who make the knock-offs and counterfeits, very low quality devices, will use recycled and second-hand parts, C-grade components, etc.

I notice it seems to be extremely basic for the sensors. just accelerometer, light and proximity, no gyro, no magentic compass, etc. Probably a reason why it's so cheap. It's not going to be playing things like Pokemon Go, or other augmented reality and VR type things probably.

Compare it to Oppo R9 Plus.

Thanks for that information because I was really considering purchasing that phone in the near future. But I heard that Shenzhen, China is a very high end economically diverse state but hopefully they will expand their operations here in the states. Just having 4 service center here at N, S,E ,W locations of the country will Build customers confidence in buying more their products just because of the availability of those service centers.
 
One of the reasons why its so cheap, is that it doesn't have to pay for the support infrastructure, that Europeans and American's expect....

Once you start factoring that in, and they have to build and support regional centres expect their costs to go up.
 
Hi,

Mostly all Chinese smartphone companies does not have repair centers, except ZTE, Huawei.
Also about sensors all the cheaper models on have basic sensors like this one.

Also I forgot to mention Alcatel and Meizu. they have repair centres.

but also some shops here in my country have Doogee, UMIdigi, and some other phones from China, and they offer service.

Of course it depends on the store to the store in every country
 
Problem with Oukitel, they don't have local service and support centres in any city or country, apart from Shenzhen, China. And so any problems that requires warranty service, that's where you have to ship it to and from, on your dime as well.
 
So there you have it... This is a phone for those who don't want a warranty and live somewhere that polkadot panties are popular
