Outlook Exchange Setup

I have read several of the threads on this issue and have not been able to get it working on my new htc Eris.

Here is how i log into view webmail on a computer

http:\\servername.companyname.com\exchange

login: domain\username
password:******

my IT department says we donot use POP, APOP, or IMAP protocol.

These are the only three options that I have on the phone

on the setup i leave the protocol as POP

email: username@company.com
password:****

then manual setup
username: DOMAIN\username
password******
POP Server: servername.company.com
security type: none
server port: default (110)

When i tap next it verifies the account information and then gives me an Warning that is couldnot verify account informaiton.

Could someone please help with some direction on this? or if you need more info. please let me know.

I was having the same issue with my incredible. I was searching on here last night and others said to download "TouchDown". It's an exchange email client. You get a free trial but then have to pay for it. I set it up last night and it's working great. It syncs all my email and calendar events. Go to appbrain or the market place to find it. Good luck
