overall headphone jack/aux cord volume problems (Optimus)

when i plug my rooted optimus on 2.2.1 bumblebee kernel into the aux jack to my cars head unit (clarion z101)

no matter how loud i set my phone to be, the sound is at least ten percent quieter, less bass coming from subs compared to the same file on a data cd.

when i plug in an iphone 4, the sound is 99% to the cd, compared to about 80% with my droid.

is there an app that will help this, or do i need to put the voodoo sound kernel on my phone

There are apps like DSP Manager, but they don't really boost the audio level, that's set by the kernal and phone hardware. It will try to boost the audio, but it will be distorted.
