Twrp is possibly the most feature rich and the standard for recoveries for flashing Roms. The partition comes in .IMG files, which can be written to your phone via fastboot commands.

I agree with Incakola... TWRP is very rich in features and is my preferred recovery of choice. Has OTG support, built in EFS partition backup and much more.
There is also flashable versions of TWRP that can be flashed through your current custom recovery and will simply overwrite your current custom recovery.
