Hi,

I have an HTC One, Android 5.0.2, HTC Sense 6.0

Since a couple of days ago, I have noticed that websites (and other browsers) don't load - the progress bar loads only up to exactly 10%.

Google.com (in Chome, it doesn't in other browsers) - but when I then try to click on one of the results - it won't load the page.

I've checked other browsers and it's the same - only up to 10%.

The internet works fine in other apps.

I have updated everything yesterday and also restarted the device a few times - nothing seems to help. I have now cleared cache - still nothing.

I'd really appreciate if you could help.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for replying!
I've just installed Firefox but the problem occurs there too..

So far I have been using only mobile data. I can check Wi-Fi but in the evening, will not have access earlier.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Firefox uses its own web rendering engine instead of the built-in one, so it's not your system.

Check your APN settings - if you have a web proxy specified, the proxy could be causing the problem. Note the settings in case you need to restore it (unlikely) and clear the proxy values.

Hi @EarlyMon

I have checked my APNs - there is a padlock icon and seems like I can't change anything. But Proxy is "not set".

I phoned HTC support and was advised to restart the phone in a safe mode. The issue is not appearing in the safe mode - everthing worked fine there. What would that mean? Any chance there is an app in the background, causing this issue?

Thanks

Typically, a problem leaving while in safe mode always indicates a conflicting app issue.

I guess I might look at GSam Battery Monitor running normally to get any insights - frankly though, this is a pretty weird problem in my experience.

How is your cell signal / service lately? I'm wondering if your phone is busy with that as a contributor - the wifi comparison this evening would help rule that out.

Thanks a lot @EarlyMon, I shall have a look at what you suggest in the evening and let you know about the progress.

Ach my signal is not good, along with that issue, since a few days ago I have some trouble with browsing on my PC (I use my mobile as a hotspot because I don't have wifi at home). The internet on my PC goes off from time to time, no idea what the reason would be. Phoned T-mobile but they told me that since the internet works in all the apps, it is not an issue with mobile data provided by them :/
