Hey all,

Just wondering as a group of developers which of the following have you found works better for you?

As I am considering making my app I was wondering whether I should make people pay for my app or just leave it with ads?

This is a very interesting question. I haven't published yet, only made private company items. Hope that the people will vote!

Yeah, I think with google introducing the in-app purchasing idea. It makes sense to provide the first and the later for those who cannot stand ads.

However, it seems that most people are very tolerant of ads now so I doubt the premium would be bought at all. This is my main concern.

I think that the in-app billing can be used to buy extension parts of your app to. I share your opinion about paying for no-ads.

I haven't released anything that does in app billing ... but I do have a couple paid apps out in the world (not much money but i make about $40 dollars a day off of them) ... I tried an ad based thing and had about 4000 users ... not that much I guess but I only made 7 dollars in a month after that I shut it down

An app that people are willing to pay for.
Adds don't work if they have a firewall blocking them.

Well most people would probably use have their apps on the go. So I doubt that a firewall would be a major issue.

@Aselby What was the difference between your paid app and the ad supported one in terms of category and quality?
