OT: hold on. I have had a Treo 650 for a couple years, and now just traded up for a Centro. These don't have Graffiti do they?? I used to have the old PalmPilot (3Com!) PDA and LOVED graffiti. I love my PalmOS, but there are times I'd much rather be writing than typing on those little buttons. I will $hit my pants if you tell me graffiti has been on my phone(s) this entire time and I don't know how to enable it.One of the main reasons I still like my Treo more is that it does handwriting recognition in any app and not just one crummy custom search thingie
I don't know how to tell you this ... you might want to "sit down".OT: hold on. I have had a Treo 650 for a couple years, and now just traded up for a Centro. These don't have Graffiti do they?? I too am a Treo 650 PalmOS user and sadly just purchased a Centro off ebay because I'm very disapointed at the lack of seemingly obvious features Android (and iPhone and others) don't have that the PalmOS has and has had for 5 or more years. It's almost as if these newfangled OS were written from scratch without ever doing comparisons of existing operating systems and trying to take the best parts... And for what it's worth, I had a G1 for a few weeks and got rid of it because of the lack of comparable PalmOS features. Very sad. Very sad indeed.
too true sir...i ran with Palm for a good stretch before jumping to Android. I love Android, but there was so many things Palm did solid (and had been doing for years) that Android does "differently" and maybe just need some getting used to. But i will definitely agree that as outdated as everyone said/says Palm is/was: it still ran circles around some other OS's that are missing little things here and there.
give 'em time though...that's sorta what Android is about right now...Personally i feel the wait is and will be worth it in the end. The 'pluses' outweigh the 'minuses' even now and those minuses will only shrink as apps take hold and get integrated in the OS. We've seen that happen with a few crack apps on the market.
(now: if only for a "search" feature in the Calendar!) waiting...waiting...
here's a great example of where Palm does something very well
Yeah, well, I've tried MobileWrite, and found it horrible (the Market comments are true, and there is literally no way to enter certain international chars). Or are you saying that Swype is better?I guess I have news for everyone. First, download MobileWrite. [...] I have it on my Moto Droid and loved it. Until I discovered Swype. I haven't used it -- or the physical keyboard -- since.
