Great info and article...it seems Palringo is looking for uber sync.

Hoepfully Rob you can get a rep on the forums for some questions...

a) as a long time Trillian user what's the migration look like?
b) does this use SMS to send messages?
c) is the desktop app an actual app or a web window like meebo?

This app looks interesting.

Plus it's free.

With all the features it claims it's going to have...it might be worth looking into.

---EDIT---

I thought meebo was an actual app? O.o

Meebo is a web app. If you visit Meebo on your PC's browser it loads up an amazing web app. It is basically a full featured multi-messenger all built in a web browser. They have done a great job.

It seem palringo has done more of a trillian for desktop and for mobile approach. I am emailing them to post here.

Oh right....so that's what you meant.

I thought you meant meebo runs through the browser on the phone...

I talk a little about Palringo in Phandroid Podcast #4 that'll be out soon (if not now, by the time you read this)...and from my impression, a very, very slick app that has some serious coverage in terms of network support. One thing that I did complain about in the podcast was the fact that I couldn't find a "settings" page where I could turn on vibration for new messages. I love being able to be logged onto IM all day on my phone, and when someone wants to talk to me they can IM me and I have it...but if I don't get a notification, then I won't check my phone as often. Other than that, an extremely well-thought-out application.

One way that it differs from the otherwise excellent web-bases services that are geared towards mobiles (such as Meebo), is that it is inherently faster and (hopefully) is able to access the phones inner data to provide more functionality. This app definitely has potential to be the most full-featured IM app on the Market.

Just my .02, of course

Thanks for the input freedomflyer. I will give it a go then I think.
Keep up the good work on the podcasts. I always listen to them and am looking forward for episode 4! :D

Yeah, well...#4 is now up! Update:Palringo now supports Vibrate, LED Blink, and the option to have a sound play upon a new IM. I don't know if it was because of us, or not, but we have it!
