I'm a dev and currently making themes for use with pandahome and openhome mainly. I'm getting requests for the gmail icon to be changed with the theme as well, which is not done by default, and no options to change it.
So I've downloaded and extracted the gmail.apk from my phone on to my pc. Low and behold there is an "ic_launcher_mail" icon (which is the default gmail icon [png]).
My question is. Is there any file string such as "com_android_browser_com_android_browser_browseractivity.png" (which is in my own custom them) that I can add to change the default Gmail icon?
i.e. add "com_android_ic_launcher_mail.png" to change the icon in my custom theme? Even though the gmail.apk is in the root directory? So when downloaded from market it automatically changes it without having to root a phone? (mine is rooted - droid)
