Pandora in your automobile?

Is anyone using Pandora or another streaming music site in your car/truck? I have been an XM satellite radio customer since their service started. When my current prepaid year ends in several months I may drop the service. I have paid for one year of commercial free Pandora and am enjoying it.

While I don't mind connecting the adapter to my G1 and plugging into my car's Aux port, a Bluetooth solution which connects when my phone is in range would be ideal. Does anyone use a stereo Bluetooth adapter to connect into your car's Aux port with success? If so, who makes it? I don't wish to change out my head unit for one that supports Bluetooth at this point.

I'm currently using the 3-in-1 adapter to do this. The sound quality gets lost a bit (high pitch, low volume ringing, some static pops), but I can't keep the phone charging using the stereo jack adapter by itself.

Curious how BT would sound.

I fired XM -- cancelled 4 cars and 1 roady -- and have been using Pandora exclusively in the car for the last 2 months. I am using the AUX cable. Won't ever go back.

No commercials ?

I use Pandora and Slacker in my car, I still have an XM sub, but I don't use it anymore....maybe I should get that canceled..... I am using the Aux port, and the sound quality is great. I also have a subscription to Rhapsody, and have been using the beta for Android, which also works great. I can pick exactly what I want....beats XM any day.

Pandora over BT to my Alpine Head Unit is lesser quality then if I use Aux Port. Not nearly bad enough for me to care much. If I had top of the line speakers that could easily define all the nuances of the audio stream.. maybe then it would be a different story.

I wish it worked through Mini USB.. I can use the USB, but only for music stored on my SD card. I can even control my music folders through the unit itself!.. (Looks like I'm selling the Ipod +1 for the Nexus = Nexus 14,567 by now lol)

I'm sorry though I don't have any experience with BT dongles that can be used through the AUX. Only through native head unit capabilities.

I just canceled my XM sub yesterday because Pandora works so well through my Aux input in my car. Another thing that is great, however, is that when a call comes in the call stays in my speakers. Some might take this for granted, but I just switched from a Blackberry Curve and it would switch to the phone speaker whenever a call came in. So, I can be listening to music, and then talk on speakerphone, then go right back to listening to music. All of this is for free, of course.

Pandora works great, and if you get a call, ( i actually like this ), the music stops and your ringtone plays, and sense i like most of my music loud, i dont miss any more calls =D

Thanks everyone. When XM and Sirus applied for the merger in 2008 and cited all of the looming competition as the reason, I didn't really see net radio as a threat. What a difference a couple of years makes! 3G really improves net radio. In my gym my connection with Tmo drops back to Edge which doesn't work very well.

After some research I found what appears to be a promising Bluetooth to Aux device: Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth Car Kit - K33428US - Buy.com.

If anyone tries this, please report back.
