Pandora is installed but not on desktop

Hi - I am a new Android user so this is probably going to be useful to know for other applications.

Pandora is installed on my phone and appears on the list under "manage applications."

However, the "P" icon does not appear on my desktop (I scrolled thru all pages) or with the other applications (ie browser, email, gallery...).

How can I (1) launch the app without an icon present, (2) make the icon appear on desktop?

Thank you for your help!!

You need to copy the app to one of your home screens for it to appear there. I am assuming you are using the stock launcher but the process is similar regardless of launcher so adjust if necessary. There are two primary methods to choose from...

Method 1:
1) move to the screen you would like the app to appear on
2) long press an open area of the screen where you would like the app
3) a "add to screen" dialog box should appear - press "application"
4) once the list of applications appears scroll to pandora and select it

Method 2:
1) move to the screen you would like the app to appear on
2) open the app drawer and scroll to pandora
2) long press the app to "grab" it and move it to the home screen

You can create a widget using the same method above. This will allow you to control your music and see what's playing without having the app. open. (This method might help to not have to logg in each time too. Not sure though.) Also, make sure that you log out of Pandora when done. It will keep running in the background if you don't and will use up your 40 free hrs. a month.

just a quick point of clarification, i don't actually log out after use but i do exit out of the app through the menu button.

also what's this 40 hrs free / month? i've never heard of this - not doubting you at all i'm just unaware. I've been using pandora since the early days when they called themselves an experiment and navigated through similar/related songs via a graphical mind map type of interface. ahh those were the days :) Pandora's changed significantly since then!!

If you log into Pandora on your computer and select the account tab, you will see how much time you have left that month. I listen to Pandora a lot and only once had 10 hrs left by the end of the month.
