Pandora On Android: It's Coming

Of course Rob is completely clueless to news about Android if it isn't already on Engadget or Gizmodo, as usual, so I'll take it upon myself to post that an engineer from Pandora announced on his blog yesterday that Pandora, the amazing streaming radio site that has already made its way to the iPhone and the Pre, is making it's way to the Android platform.

Pandora for Android is under development now. We’re a startup and sometimes the world has a way of stepping in and changing priorities, but assuming that doesn’t happen, our plan is for Android to be the next big mobile platform launch for us.

This is really exciting news for me personally because I originally was using Pandora before I bought my G1 and have had to since try and tolerate iMeem and Last.fm. Also, it was just another app my friends with iPhone could hold over my head, so it's great that the playing field is being leveled.

What do you guys think about the big news? How many of you use Pandora?

Thanks for passing along the great news. I am a big fan of Pandora and have turned on many friends and family to the service. It will be a big plus to have this on the two G1s in our household.

We are planning to buy one of the Samsung model BDP-xxxx players in the near future with Pandora built in as well. I know some prefer Last.fm or iMeem, but to me it appears Pandora is in the game for the long haul.
