Passcode locked

Ok so I bought a “new” Samsung Galaxy Tab A and received it today. After opening when I got home from work there was no seal in the box. Slid it open..went to hold the power down to turn on and it was already on at 60% power with another profile and a passcode. Contacted amazon and will be getting a new one on Tuesday but in the mean time what can I do with this. Is there a way around the passcode or it’s a brick?

60% charge means nothing, since it's normal for devices to be shipped partially charged. But obviously having an account on it is a different matter.

Do Amazon not want it returned? If they do surely the question is moot. But the short answer is no: a factory reset would remove it, but would trigger factory reset protection and thus leave it more locked down than it already is.
