I don't understand why the most fundamental, basic security measure does not seem to be implemented in Adroid 2.2 - this is such an obvious thing that it really does not make any sense. If a password has been set on the device, then that should be the very first thing that appears when somebody powers the device on and it has gone through the boot up and splash phases. To go to the home screen and then have to wait a maximum of 15 seconds for it to go to sleep means that all anybody has to do to bypass security is simply turn the device off and back on again. That is ridiculous! I haven't found any way to get around this problem. Nobody seems to care about it either. But no other OS in contemporary use is so open. Linux, Windows, Unix, etc all require password to be entered *before* they will let you do anything else unless you haven't set a password. For a portable device to be insecure by default is beyond belief. So is there any way to make the lock screen appear right away instead of having to wait for the device to go to sleep? I want that lock on there the moment it starts, otherwise it's just a bit of a silly toy that's not safe to carry around and use for its intended purpose.
