Password protect a file (not hide)

Hello,
Is there an app, something to password protect a file? Not to hide it, it should remain in the same folder, still visible to everybody, but only who knows the password to be able to open it. This should apply to all kind of files, like txt docs, pictures, office docs (similar to Windows password protect in Office).

Thank you, I saw that but is not what I said I need. This one hides the files in a folder.

I don't think there is any app that can lock a file individually...

Thank you, this looks much better, much closer to what I need. I will test it, even it seems to have some extra steps: to open a file I have to extract it first and after using it, I need to reincript it, or delete it if I used a temporary file to extract.
