Paste to Tablet (from PC)?

I've got an idea for an app but I'm not sure if it's already done.. if it is, please let me know what app functions almost exactly this way.

What it needs to do:

I need a simple interface for pasting the contents of my PC clipboard to my android tablet. This program needs 2 parts, a Tablet/Phone client and a PC client. If both the PC and Tablet clients are running and sync'd, then whenever I paste something on my PC into the PC Client, the contents are displayed on my Tablet.

I don't want a solution along the lines of:

- Sync the PC and Tablet drives.
- Create the file with the clipboard contents on shared drive.
- Open said file on Tablet.

I already know how to do that but it's too cumbersome. I need a program that minimizes the # of steps so all i have to do is paste the contents of my clipboard right onto my tablet.

Does such an app currently exist?

If you have a Dropbox folder on your PC, just right click/copy anything, then open your DB folder and right click/paste. Presto, it's on your tablet or phone. Not sure how it could get any easier.

More along what you are asking is maybe Teamviewer, but nearly as direct as DB.

You could also get a note app like Evernote or Springpad. Make a note of it in the PC client, and pull it on the phone/tablet app; that's what I do with Springpad.

Still too complicated!!!

I've already know how and tried variations of both but it's still unacceptably slow and tedious.

I need some way to "Paste to Tablet" in a very simple, fast, and direct way.

Let's call this hypothetical app "Lazy Paste"

This program comes with a PC client and a Tablet client. You sync both devices upon first setting up.

As long as the Tablet client is running, whenever you paste something into the PC client, it appears right on the Tablet.

Intuitively, think of this app turning the tablet into a dynamic sheet of paper.. whatever you have in your clipboard, you can paste from your computer to this sheet of "paper" on the tablet with 1 or 2 clicks.

I'm with tcat. This is where a 'cloud' shines: syncing! Amazon has its cloud, Apple launched iCloud, of course Google('s Docs) hangs together in a cloud. Etc. etc.
And there are the smaller, free ones. Tiny, personal clouds, if you will. Or virtual pendrives. Like DropBox (2GB for starters), SugarSync (5GB for starters), and Minus (10GB for starters). Perfect for the OP.

That exactly describes a shared file/document. Ipso facto: a cloud...

Not good enough.. it needs to appear right on the screen without any extra, repetitive steps to open the file.

You know those ubiquitous buttons that appear on many pages and allow you share a site on Facebook?

I want to have something where I can right-click an icon on the tray, select "Share Clipboard with Tablet" and bam, it appears right on the tablet! Having to reach over to the tablet and open a file is an unacceptable additional step.

Edit: Ok, this might be a step in the right direction for a solution: http://www.mobileclipboard.com/

If you work in a synced file/document you don't have to do anything extra. Everything that appears in the file/doc on your desktop or laptop machine will also be in its synced alter ego that lives on your phone. Requiring no intervention from you. None. Because it is one and the same file/document.

Having the exact same bit & bytes synced between devices is not the problem. The bottleneck is file format compatibility. Aside from graphics, audio, and ascii files there's not a whole lot of formats that work on all OSs...
That is why I prefer to work on a file on only one platform. My desktop or laptop. If I have to access it from a phone or tablet I use Teamviewer and still work in the same file/document. Only remotely.
Big plus: no compatibility issues!

Right click on a phone? How much easier can "long-pressing" on a file or picture be? Long-press, a pop-up appears "share with dropbox", and presto goes to folder that DB is open to = file on phone, file on PC. Or if you have an icon on your phone labeled "My PC" (which is a DB folder bookmark), you just drag the file into it.

How would you like it if you had a second monitor where you had to drag the image in every time? Or a TV where you had to drag from a long list of channels to change channels? See where I'm getting at?

Does chrome-to-phone not work for you?

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.chrometophone&hl=en

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/oadboiipflhobonjjffjbfekfjcgkhco

I've included the extension in my Chrome browser, and whenever I need to send text (or a number of other things), to my tablet and/or phone, I simply highlight the appropriate text, and either right-click and send it, or hit the CtP extension.

Nope, not good enough.. it needs to support images too.

I would look into writing it yourself. Awesome drop does something similar with HTML 5. You can click and drag a file from your desktop into a web browser and it shows up on your android device in their app. I would imagine you could do something similar. Since this functionality seems extremely important to you I would suggest doing some coding. You might even be able to make some money on the app.

Not really. Only thing I can think of that comes close is Team Viewer, although most of the other options mentioned here don't seem "that" time consuming.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking into that since my main concern isn't the basic functionality (simply getting the job done) but being able to perform such functions with as little user input as possible and as quickly as possible (getting the job done well and efficiently.)
