Pastel Phone App... WTF!!

Yeah, that's part of the new redesign for the Phone app. You can uninstall updates to that app if you want... but the redesign will return when you update again.
If you don't like it, please use the Menu > Help & feedback > Send feedback option in the Phone app to let the developers know.

Oh Lord. I thought "I'm sure mine isn't like that", but I've checked and I'm still on version 22 (with no update in my inbox). Are you using the beta version?
Anyway, I think when the update arrives I'll ignore that.
Good luck with sending them feedback. Google don't have a good track record for listening to users, but we can hope. I've just told them that it makes me envy people who are colour blind, and is sufficient reason for me not to update the app.

Oh Lord alright!!
Yeah I am enrolled in the beta program. Rolled out by stelth though. Only the phone app changed. Messages hasn't changed. Time to ditch beta. Thanks for the reminder.

I meant the beta for the phone app (I'm in the android 9 beta programme, but not for Google's apps).
