Paypal app is constantly running in the background

If you don't ever use it, then I suggest that you uninstall it. It's just taking up memory and storage space and you're not using it.

Some apps do run in the background. I have no idea why PayPal has set their app to do this, but they apparently have. As, I don't use it, or even have it installed, I don't know why it is running in the background or what it is doing there.

When I get some time (probably a couple days) I'll install it and see if I can figure out what it is doing.

BTW:

My friend recently found out that when he uses this application to make a money transfer, every single transfer is done _twice_
Beware.

I did, however I was unable to replicate your issue. I am rooted and running UD 2.0.0. I have my setting set to keep as much memory free as possible, but am not using a task killer. I believe either my settings are killing this task as it is not needed in the background, or I just cannot get it to run in the background.

But, with the comment made earlier, it seems that this app may not be the best anyways. I definitely would not want to be making duplicate payments every time I use the app.

Ok, thanks for the info. I kill the process every time I see it running.

You didn't read what anonymous posted. It's not running, its loaded in memory. Big difference.

You are using up more battery killing it and then having it restart on your own than just leaving it. If android needs more memory, it'll free up some on it's own.

It is running. As soon as you boot your phone up, Paypal is listed under "Running applications". I can't see a need why Paypal needs to load their app on boot
