Google Voice does not support hunting / sequential ringing.
I have pbxes.org setup with google voice trunking, and it works great when on wifi, and most of the time when I have a strong 4g signal, using the native android sip client.
However, for the off times when I don't have a good data connection, or want a "more" reliable connection, I'd like to be able to receive incoming calls via cellular.
How many connections can I make with a single Google Voice account? The idea would be:
1. Someone calls my GV #
2. Routes to my pbxes.org trunk
3. If I don't pick up in x seconds / rings, or if there is no SIP client session, route to my cell #
I'm imagining this can be setup in pbxes.org. I just need to figure out how, and could use some directions if anyone has done this. Obviously, this would require two GV calls to occur (the inbound one, and then the outbound to route it to my cell #).
Is this possible with one GV account? Or would I have to trunk another GV account and have it use that? And if so, would that be doable with pbxes.org?
Otherwise, I'd have to trunk sip2sip.info, which I have a ipkall number attached to, and set my main GV account to ring the ipkall number to get to pbxes.org. Then use pbxes to use the gv trunk (with a different gv account) to route it back out to my cell #.
Any input?
Nutshell, how to implement in pbxes.org:
1. If no sip client active, route incoming gv call to cell
2. If no sip client answer in x seconds/rings, route incoming gv call to cell
Thanks
Update:
Did some simple testing with the call forwarding section of my pbxes extension. It seems the "if no answer" forward works if I call my pbxes sip from a sip (no gv involvement). When I call my gv number, it doesn't make it. So it looks like GV can only handle one call at a time. Slight bummer, since it'll probably have to involve two GV accounts then.
Don't know how reliable the "if unavailable / if busy" are. I disabled sip on my phone and tried calling my pbxes sip from sip2sip, and it never got through to my cell (gv free to be used). So it looks like that's not working. It does look like the pbxes extension is still active in the status page, even though I've dropped the connection. Maybe I need to wait whatever the keep-alive period for it to go offline.
