Help PC can't see my phone

Running the 2.1 firmware right now. When I connect my phone to my PC (Windows XP), it'll charge, but it won't come up on either my PC or phone as being connected. I've changed the USB settings (Settings > Applications > USB Settings) to both Mass Storage and All Connections, but nothing. I'm not getting a notification about being connected via the USB, or that there's a Unknown device being connected on the PC side. I've been through all these threads via google, but I can't seem to find an answer that fixes my problem.

I've also downloaded the Kies program to my laptop, but it won't register the phone since the PC itself won't register it. Is there some sort of driver I'm missing? If so, can I have the link? Thanks in advance.

I am currently running Gingerbread 2.3.3 on my vibrant so the following might be a little different for you:

1. Go into you Settings and then select Applications
2. Make sure that Unknown Sources is checked
3. Scroll down the list and select Developement
4. Here, you want to enable USB Debugging (press OK to confirm)
5. Go back to your home screen and connect your data cable
6. Slide your notification and select USB connected
7. Select the "Connect storage to PC" and it should connect

Verify that you are able to browse the 2 removable drives that appear in My Computer.

If the above steps do not work, ensure you have the drivers loaded proerly in Windows XP. If need be, install Kies if haven't already done so.

Good luck and hope this helps.
