Help PC recognizes micro SD Phone won't

My phone won't recognize my external SD card anymore, yet my computer will. I tried formatting it on my computer, even to NTFS to force the phone to format it itself, but no luck. All I get is "safe to remove".

My Micro SD card is a 64GB SDXC card as well.

Did you format it to fat32?

It does need to be in FAT32 format; but read the post as you need additional tools because of the stupid way Microsoft works.

Thanks fellas, I got it now. It was indeed the fat32 problem. It's strange that neither the bootloader nor the phone itself was willing to format it in fat32.

Now I have trouble getting the media on the card to sync
