updated to this via kies just now.... cant see no physical changes except the phone (now its working again) seems quicker.

Kies told me the firmware update was complete however upon looking @ the phone i still had the little android man with a weird 3D square like thing in it.... i left it for a hour plugged in still doing what appeared to be nothing and then got frustrated and did a battery pull which resulted in the recovery menu opening....

Fortunately for myself all i pressed was the top selection which was boot phone and it worked but just thought id make u all aware there could be a problem

Thanks. Thought I'd check for the update but once again I have to update Kies first! Every single time:mad: Anyway, just installing the update now.

Cheers

Ray.

I'm going through the pain of installing kies, drivers, reboot, charge phone etc etc (because OTA takes about 3 weeks to get around to updating my phone!). I imagine, if it's just a small one, that it's some sort of bug fix. I know there's a way of bypassing the lock screen so perhaps it's a fix for that.

I really wish Samsung would provide details about what each upgrade contains - glad I read this here first because I wont bother with this one.
I like to use the Samsung stock roms but also have a rooted phone which means I have to re-root using CF-Root every time I upgrade through KIES. I know that I could use a rooted stock ROM but for now prefer to use official releases.

I had hoped this was going to be 4.2 but obviously not

This brings a kernel based on update 8 sources. This means for those who have been experiencing freezes due to the SDS fix, this addresses that for you.
