Help PdaNet and xbox one!

Hello reader, I'm Balthier and I have a problem that I have not been able to solve by myself!
The problem is trying to play Destiny (a multiplayer game that requires xbox live) using PdaNet on my phone! The current setup I'm trying is using PdaNet on my phone and PC to get internet, and then share my internet with my xbox one with a ethernet cable. I'm getting internet on my xbox and can download games and talk to friends with live, but my games get internet errors about not being able to connect to the server! (bungie classified my error as "Marionberry") I've done a little internet searching and have opened ports and set a static IP. I'm kind of stuck here and any help is most appreciated! Thank you. Sincerely, Balthier.

This issue has come up before, the Xbox requires UPnP so that it can open the ports it requires. Tethering an Xbox to a phone doesn't support UPnP, and phone tethering doesn't allow you to open the required ports yourself. You'll have to get a proper full-blown cellular router, if you want to use an Xbox with a 3G, 4G wireless carrier.

Could I ask for an example of a "Full-blown cellular router"? I'd like to thank you for your help and apologize for my ignorance on this task!
**Edit: my price range is <100

Hello again! I got a cellular router ( http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-MR...id=1432043762&sr=8-4&keywords=cellular+router ) now and I'm lost as to what I plug into the cellular router to get internet access to it. I tried plugging the phone into the router with a tether app running, but nothing happened. What should I do next or do you need anymore information? Thank you so much in advance, Sincerely Balthier

One thing I didn't realize with this device. I just thought you inserted your SIM into it, and that was it. The one I used, did just insert the SIM, but it wasn't this particular router.

Look at Appendix E, in the back of the user guide...

Didn't realize that, you need an appropriate USB 3G/4G data modem, which would probably come from your carrier.

Because if you're still using your phone as the internet connection. Even with this router, the phone is preventing UPnP from working, and blocking incoming data packets that the Xbox requires. And you still need this WiFi router, to make the connection for the Xbox itself, because of UPnP.

Universal Plug & Play, UPnP, was introduced by Microsoft, so that they can automatically configure NAT routing devices to allow incoming data packets on certain ports to get through to the devices that require them. Phones don't do that, because probably 99% of the time users might only be tethering laptops or tablets, not home games consoles or data servers.

The TP-Link 3G/4G router(white box) we used, just inserted the SIM, 3G/4G modem is built-in....don't know which model it was.

So what's the solution? I read it all and didn't really figure it out. Sorry I'm bad at solving my own problems...
Sincerely, Balthier

Ah and before I forget, thank you so much for this thread mikedt. It's helped me from giving up on being able to play xbox live at home!

Just a note here. I have no issues with xbox live using my verizon phone tethered (Cricket/AT&T also works). I do however have issues trying to tether Metropcs/T-mobile. What service are you using (I'm guessing T-mobile)?
