PdaNet+ Network Driver not installing

GeoGiz

Lurker
I am attempting to install PdaNetA5214 on my HP 64-bit laptop with no success. I have the app installed on my Galaxy s4 from Straight Talk (SM-S975L) which is Android 4.3 and cannot be upgraded. The phone is connected as a camera, checked for USB debugging, and the app is checked for USB Tether. Each time I have attempted to install on the laptop the program installs, then the USB driver installs with no problem but I get a failure on the network driver: Update driver for Plug and Play Devices err=5b4, the second box says “Fail to install PdaNet Broadband Driver.”

Can anyone help me on this?

When installing PdaNet it comes with instructions on how to install it on your laptop or computer. FoxFi will most likely be your Wi-Fi connection It will also show up on your phone after you install the app.

Thanks, KBU2, but I beg to differ with you. I have an older laptop that I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 last week that I am giving to my sister. It has the same antivirus and firewall as the laptop I am having issues with, so basically identical. PdaNet loaded just fine on the older laptop and my Android 4.3 works perfectly with it. And the download for PdaNet doesn't come with instructions but I have been all over their website looking for answers. Also, FoxFi isn't available with my carrier, Straight Talk. Thanks for your time.

I upgraded my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and Foxfi supported by PdaNet+ . I'm not sure what version you're using but that's the one that works on mine right now to this day. Did you purchase PdaNet+ key from Google Play Store so it will work with your PC or laptop because without this purchase key it will not work.

For people who might read this thread later looking for a solution, I am posting this. In spite of what KBU2 states, as PdaNet+ installs it tells you that Android 4.1 or higher is required on your phone. Also, PdaNet+ has a free version if you read the full site:

I received a response from PdaNet+ support yesterday that solved my problem:
Do you happen to have Zone Alarm or AVG installed on your computer? If so please uninstall it and then reinstall PdaNet. You can put them back after you are done installing PdaNet. Thanks, June Fabrics PDA Software Support

After uninstalling Zone Alarm the PdaNet+ free version installed without a hitch and works perfectly. Reinstalled Zone Alarm and the free version still works perfectly.

Highly recommend PdaNet+ and their support team. It took a few days longer than I had hoped but they are efficinet.
