People widget problem

For some reason, I can't get my people widget downloaded off the android market to work at all. When I make a "people 2 x 4" widget, no matter what contact group I set or widget label I create, the box on the homescreen is blank, with no option to add contact.

I don't think this is the same people widget as the HTC widget package. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

i might be way off here, but is the people widget a scrolling widget? what launcher are you using? not all launchers support scrolling widgets.

personally i like photo contact widget better. its in the market for free.
the pics are much smaller, and i like seeing more of the contacts rather than larger pictures of a few at a time.
