Help Performance/Lag - What's it like?

Josh

After reading most of the reviews, there has been a lot of complaints about the Sense UI causing poor performance.

Is this true? How bad is it?

Would I be better waiting for the next generation of phones to use Sense UI?

i read the same reviews and was concerned myself but after having it for nearly a week, not seeing half the problems they were mentioning, Are they actually using the same build of phone and software because its nothing like what they are saying. The UI is quite smooth, there are times you may get a little judder if you come out of a app and its pulling something off the internet, but even thats not too bad (wen it happens). Also some have said a faster SD card improves it, still waiting for my 8gb class 6 card.

you don't need a next gen phone to handle sense, G2 is perfectly capable of it.

Same here, only just started using it as my day-to-day phone as my number has only just been ported, but so far I'm quite impressed. Initially, I didn't see any lag. I saw some when I received some text messages and the text message widget took a moment to appear. From what I have read, I suspect some widgets may be worse than others - the messaging (text or emails) and Twitter widgets.

I've seen a couple of stutters in other places, but then I've seen that on other phones as well, and overall it hasn't bothered me as yet.

As said above (and many times elsewhere) getting a Class 6 card cuts out the lag, I'm saying this from personal experience, no issues here.
