Help phne screen opens when unlocking phone with swipe

not all of the time, but most of the time when I hit the "on" button on the side and swipe to unlock screen the phone dialing pad is the first thing that shows up. I don't want the phone screen to be the first thing I see. Is there a way to disable this?
