Help Phone App force closes on opening

Starting today on my ZTE Zmax Pro Android 6.0.1. non rooted my phone app keeps crashing. I can still make calls through Contacts or answer incoming calls and voice mail, etc through notifications. The actual app like to see missed calls or dial a number will not work.

Tried the normal reboot a few times, also tried airplane mode off and on. Tried clearing phone app cache and data. Still getting a force close on the Phone app. So since I don't have any kinda of great tool for recovery other than stock not sure what to do.

Thanks in advance
Josh

Hi,

Remove sim card and insert sim card.

Go to settings >storage>cached data>clear cached data .

Go to settings>storage>apps/ appication manager> all> Dialer> force stop> clear data.

Go to settings>storage>apps/ appication manager> all>phone> force stop> clear data.

Go to settings>storage>apps/ appication manager> all>phone ( 2nd) > force stop> clear data.

Restart device.

This is a technical problem of your device. Though you can run via dialer app but I suggest you to contact customer service asap. This is just beginning of errors.

Thank You this fixed the problem. Settings - Storage - Cleared Cache - Cleared Data and now all is well.
