Galaxy1980
Lurker
My wife and I both have Galaxy SIII phones. Once in a while, but not always - maybe 30% of the time - the phones will make annoying beeps when we connect either of them to the charger. I have the factory battery and my wife has an extended battery and a different provider (I have Metro, she has Sprint). It is a two-tone beep - two tones about a musical 5th apart. The timing between the two-note beeps varies from about 4 seconds to several minutes.
Sometimes, but not always, the battery charging symbol jumps each time the two-note beep occurs. The beeps seem most likely to occur if the charge level is between about 40% and 90% when we plug them in - but this does not happen all the time and they have occurred when the charge level was lower too.
We can stop the annoying beeps by putting the phone on silent mode, but then, of course, we do not hear genuine calls or other alerts.
If the charge level is really low, they usually do not beep when we plug them into the charger but it is not predictable. Have other people had this happen too? Is there a solution?
