Help Phone Broke Under 2 Months

I was texting a friend when my Droid Turbo 2 began flickering with green lights, skewed color tints, and random screen shut offs. When the light would go out the phone still responded to touch as it buzzed as I clicked screen buttons. I hope there is some way the usability of the phone could be recovered, if not what I should do about getting a new phone, and if I'm screwed new phone recommendations other than Samsung. I appreciate anyone's opinion on the matter.

UPDATE: it started working again for no reason. Broke without warning and fixed without warning any explanations?

If it fails again and it's under two months old, it should be under warranty, which is provided by Moto(Lenovo) or Verizon probably.
I'm sorry I failed to mention it had a previous owner but upon receiving it, there was no significant signs of usage. As well as, it was not bought through Verizon, nor would Moto warranty it as it's a 2014 phone :/. Sorry to have bugged you.

Has a Factory Data Reset deleting all added apps and resetting all options. ? There is a (perhaps remote) possibility that it might correct the problem.

A Factory Data Reset is my recommended first step in using any phone obtained form a third party. It is less certain if the phone was root-ed.

If a Factory Data Reset was done and it still fails I suggest contacting the person it was purchased from for a refund.

Has the system been updated to the latest version?

The firmware can be compromised and display symptoms that look like hardware problems. A factory Data Reset can sometimes correct this.
