phone charger - fake ?

Hello there!
Can you post some of those pictures from your blog here?
Seems like you've gotten a reply from Samsung about it, albeit vague.
Can you just return it?

vague is proper word :)
return it is too easy way...

Hmm, yeah, I'm no electronics whiz so I can't tell by looking at it, sorry.
Post a pic of the info printed on the housing too...that may clue somebody in on it;)

Looks like it was intended for sale and use in Russia. Is that where it came from? Did you buy it from Samsung Russia, or somewhere else?

Probably made by a Chinese OEM for Samsung, evidently for Russia. Apart from CE, don't know what the approvals are, Russian I guess

Well, most stuff are made in China anyway. iPhones are made in China. Does it even matter?
They're all made in China of course. However cheapo knock-off chargers can actually be very dangerous. http://lifehacker.com/5957596/tests-show-why-you-should-stay-away-from-knockoff-usb-chargers
And people have been electrocuted and killed by counterfeit iPhone chargers.

When they're making knock-off products, they don't particularly care about if it actually works or not, or the quality, or if it's safe to use, e.g. the ubiquitous fake Micro-SD. Cheapo can be the same, like self-combusting hoverboards from China.

I think the OPs Samsung adapter is actually legit and OK. Because I don't think they'd go out of their way to make a fake Russian version Samsung. Probably would be buying devices intended for Russia in Slovakia.

Fakes tend to be more generic than that AFAIK.
