Phone Contact has no option to choose group

While the contact sync fine between the Google desktop, I see no option to choose the "group" on the phone where you can on the desktop.

I cannot display any group info on the phone either. Please show me there is a fix.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? On a Samsung, in the contacts, there is a group tab, where you can see your contact groups? was that something like what you wanted?

The stock vanilla Android contacts app doesn't display groups. GoContacts and some other 3rd party apps will.

On my Samsung the Group option in the Contacts list is hidden and you simply scroll the top line sideways to reveal it.

There are five headings but it can only display four, hence the fifth being hidden.

Yes, that's what I wanted just like the desktop contact you can create groups to assign to different contacts(eg. friends, relatives, co-workers , type of clients & etc). You can then text or email to all or selected people in that group. Does anyone know if my phone comes with that function. I searched yesterday & found this is a common glitch for Android.

Its not a glitch. Motorola just neglected to put that feature. Samsung and HTC has it. Just get a different contacts app, like Go Contacts.

This is a Motorola blunder. My friend's HTC Vivid has it

I also posted about this quirk way back when, then I found Groupy / contact by group. It’s close enough -- very easy to bring up a group, a bit of a pain to add/edit contacts, at least compared to the PC Contacts.

Thanks for the reply. I changed to Samsung today and it has contact groups in the contacts all synced to the phone. However, I have problem sync new phone contact to internet Gmail. Wonder what setting is incorrect? Calendar & task were sync fine though.

Make sure to save new contacts as 'Google contacts'

The problem is that the sync appears only as one way not two way:

1) whenever new contacts are input on desktop it will reflect on phone (OK) but
2) whenever new contacts are input on phone, it will NOT reflect on desktop (no good)

What is wrong?

Same answer - when you enter a new contact on the phone make sure to make it a 'Google contact'.
