Definitely sorry to hear of that frustrating situation. Cell phones have become such an integral part of life nowadays that when something happens, it's like a death blow. I can assure you that Verizon is definitely there to help you, that being said, I can also assure you there are agents who dont want to help and are just looking for a quick sale. What it sounds like to me is the battery is completely dead, never should a phone, especially newer models be left to go completely dead. The reason being is they take so long of sitting on the charger to regain enough battery life to power on and stay on. One thing I can say is take it off of the computer charge and let it sit on a wall charger for a little while. The high speed usb port on a computer does infact give off power, enough to keep a phone powered on, however the charge the computer is giving to the phone is a false positive. Proper charging needs to come from a wall outlet. To further my point, when your phone does get up and running and it will, charge your phone using your computer for a week, I guarantee you will notice a significant drop in the functionality of the battery. Transitioning back to your problem, leave it on a wall charger for a half of an hour, dont worry about it during this time. After that long go back to the phone and simply press one time (dont hold) the power key. The purpose is to waken the screen to show you the charging process. If you get this your phone should be fine and once it reaches 25% you should feel safe in turning it on. If this doesnt work, and yes, there is the possibility of that, simply call Verizon and let them know the phone isnt charging/turning on. If the phone was purchased through Verizon when you said it was then this is simply a manufacturers defect and they will replace, for free. Again I know this ordeal is very upsetting to you. Verizon, in all fairness, is there to help.
